The Gateway – an all purpose venue.

The Gateway at Seaton in East Devon is managed by Seatons Voice, a Community Interest Company (CIC). Previously it was an under used Town Hall which has been transformed into a vibrant and much used community asset by the dozens of volunteers who decided to transform it.

Cabaret Style Seating Layout Option.

Seating for 160 people with a dance floor in front of the stage.

In House Catering

The venue is licensed with full in house catering facilities for buffet or waited on service.

The Gateway’s Main Hall is an ideal venue for concerts, theatrical productions, conferences, presentations, weddings or parties. It has a usable floor area of 14.5 metres x 13.5 metres, 210m² overall and Stage Performance Area of 34m² with an 8.2m wide x 4.8m High Proscenium opening, excellent lighting and sound facilities and professional technical and administrative support.

The recent addition of a full size cinema screen, digital projection and surround sound allow high definition live streaming via satellite from anywhere in the world.

There is a foyer with a staffed box office. The main hall is disabled-accessible for audience members.

Theatre Style Seating Layout.

Up to 250 chairs set out in numbered rows with centre and side aisles.

Live Music Event.

Standing only capacity for up to 400 which reduces if side tables and seating are set out leaving a centre standing floor area.

The Theatre seating layouts can suit stages shows such as dramas, musicals, revues, classical concerts, choirs or any stage performance where the audience are seated throughout the show.

Live shows can be set out with the options of having theatre style seating with chairs in numbered rows to a completely clear floor area to give a maximum standing capacity.

The Standing layouts suit live music where the audience will expect to be able to dance and move around during the shows.

Training & Presentations.

The Gateway’s big screen and digital projection facilities allow company or large organisations to seat their colleagues or members in comfort.

Space, Comfort and Accessibility.

Delegates sit 5-6 at a round table enabling them to interact easily with the presenter. Side tables with information and staffing can be set out.

The Gateway is in the town centre with large ‘Pay & Display’ off road car parks within a short walking distance for delegates. Disabled delegates can be dropped off outside the main doors. Organisers with displays and presentation equipment can park at the rear of the premises with a permit.

Organisers and delegates can connect to the internet using our in house Wi-Fi. Presentations and web site pages can be projected from clients lap tops onto the Gateway big screen using our digital projector. Microphones and amplification are available for use by presenters and delegates.

Male and Female toilets including disabled facilities. In house catering with tea, coffee and soft drinks for breaks. Choice of menu options for delegate meals. Town centre shops, cafés, pubs and restaurants are nearby.

The Gateway has two other smaller function rooms which are used for meetings, training sessions, conferences, seminars, presentations, lectures or social functions.

The Enterprise Suite and Gallery Café.

Both the Enterprise Suite and Gallery Café are on the first floor which can only be accessed by two flights of stairs. (no lift available)
Both rooms are newly decorated and arranged so that they can be used for meetings, seminars, presentations and private functions.

The Enterprise Suite.

A private light and airy meeting room 7.0m x 5.0m on plan, set out for meetings and able to seat 12 to 25 persons.

The Gallery Café.

A modern Open plan space 7.0m x 4.0m on plan, set off the administration lobby and opposite the Enterprise Suit. This space is set out with 5 tables and can seat 20 persons around the tables or in rows suitable for presentations.

Adjoining the Gallery Café is the first floor licensed bar and kitchen which can serve drinks, teas, coffees and meals or light refreshments.

The Gallery Café can be used as a stand alone venue or in conjunction with the Enterprise Suite as a space for refreshments in between meeting or presentation sessions.

There are male and female toilets on the first floor for use with both the Enterprise Suite and Gallery Café.

Administration & Technical Support.

The Gateway has a full staffed administration area on the first floor which is open Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm.
The Box Office is in the ground floor foyer selling tickets to all of our events and is open Monday to Saturday 10am – 4pm.
